Logistics Coordinator
Job Details
Our Logistics Coordinator assumes a pivotal position in orchestrating and arranging tasks for our Logistics Department, nurturing reliable connections with essential transport carriers, and ensuring the prompt scheduling and booking of loads at optimal rates.
LOCATION
Onsite- Fort Worth, TX
COMPENSATION
This position offers a competitive compensation package, benchmarked to regional market standards. It consists of a base salary plus the opportunity for quarterly profit sharing after one year of employment.
HOURS OF OPERATION
- Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM + On Call Hours
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Book, track, and close loads to ensure timely delivery.
- Negotiate load pricing and work to reduce our overall cost per mile.
- Confirm carrier capabilities before confirming loads, including trailer length and weight capacity, height restrictions, etc.
- Help reduce days to return, which will entail phone calls, text messages, and email communication with brokers, drivers, and end-users receiving the freight.
- Work closely with sales and our logistics department to allocate resources appropriately for delivery and return freight. Ensuring quick responses and excellent customer service.
- Communicate to the sales team via email about any delivery or pick-up delays.
- Generating transport orders in PTR’s transportation booking system (Fleetwave).
- Assist AP with reconciling weekly transportation purchase orders.
- After hours occasionally due to breakdown or issues at pickup or delivery.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE
- 1+ years of experience in logistics coordination, or an equivalent college degree.
- Independent decision making.
- Ability to conceptualize paired routing to eliminate deadhead.
- Excellent organizational skills and a passion for customer service.
- Able to multitask and prioritize.
- Comfortable taking calls after normal work hours occasionally.
- Excellent computer skills and communication skills.
- Troubleshooting skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excel in high-pressure, detail-oriented roles.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience dispatching company drivers.
- Experience working in a logistics or supply chain-related role.
