Body Shop Technician
Job Details
The Body Shop Technician ensures the quality of our rental fleet is maintained through its entire rental life span. Working together with team members, our experienced technicians perform hundreds of repairs and maintenance activities per month to keep our customized rental fleet working.

- Hourly rate of $25.90 + Overtime + Benefits Starting Day One
Hours of Operation
- Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working knowledge of all aspects of repairs for damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles.
- Complete the refinished process on a repaired vehicle, which could include cosmetic repairs, masking, sanding, applying undercoats, removing panels, and bumpers, replacing damaged parts, etc.
- Prepping, painting, and bed lining of damaged OEM panels, aftermarket toolboxes, aftermarket beds, and trailers.
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator when necessary.
- Compliance with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
- Understands, keeps informed of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right to Know, etc.
- Utilizes tools and equipment safely.
- Assess vehicle damage for materials, estimated labor, and cost to ensure we are being as cost-effective as possible while meeting our schedule to our customers.
- Able to develop appropriate and efficient methods for repair.
- Ensure that all trucks meet the PTR quality standards in appearance, cleanliness, and timeline.
- Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair, including paint and bed line booths.

- Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
- Escalate any concerns, issues, or improvement ideas to your manager.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 5S (Sort, Shine, Straighten, Standardize, Sustain): Implement and uphold 5S principles within the workspace to improve efficiency and organization.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE
- 2+ years of body shop experience and/or currently attending an automotive technical school.
- 2+ years of painting experience
- Maintain a good driving record and be properly licensed.
- Basic mathematical skills to solve simple equations for mixing chemicals.
- Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal repair methods
- Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team player but also can work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
