Check-In Technician
Job Details
The Check-In Technician ensures the quality of our rental fleet is maintained throughout its entire rental life span. Working together with team members, our quality check-in technicians perform hundreds of inspections per month to keep our customized rental fleet operational.
LOCATION
- Onsite- Fort Wayne
RATE OF PAY
- Hourly rate pay is $19.65 + Over Time + Benefits that start day one
HOURS OF OPERATION
- Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand and execute all quality and safety standards regarding repair and maintenance procedures and best practices, with work performed passing a quality inspection.
- Know how to complete minor repairs & basic visual and mechanical inspections based on a quality standard checklist.
- Perform lube oil and filter preventative maintenance.
- Understanding of basic diagnostic tooling (TopDon scanner).
- Understand basic recall and warranty information from OEMs.
- Understand how to utilize and read service manuals.
- Verify all repair and maintenance items have been properly installed, and complete.
- Understand the PTR return, check-in, and QC inspection process from start to finish.
- Perform electronic vehicle check-in inspections via a tablet with close attention to detail to ensure we are capturing all billable damages.
- Troubleshoot basic automotive mechanical and electrical problems through visual and mechanical inspections.
- Prioritize safety, quality, and customer service.
- Escalate judgment calls to the department manager.
- Work together with team members and Department Manager to continuously improve repair and maintenance processes.
- 5S (Sort, Shine, Straighten, Standardize, Sustain): Implement and uphold 5S principles within the workspace to improve efficiency and organization.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE
- Maintain a good driving record and be properly licensed.
- Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team player.
- Must be able to work both inside the shop environment and outdoors.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
- Basic written communication skills and proficiency in using a tablet.

- Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers and handle situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness.
