MATERIAL HANDLER
POSITION SUMMARY
The Material Handler plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely receipt of inbound parts and the delivery of parts from the PTR warehouse to external facilities. They are also responsible for ensuring that parts required by the operations team for their jobs are kitted in a timely manner, thereby ensuring the team's efficiency. The Material Handler is responsible for order picking material orders and is also responsible for the starting point of the 5s (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) workplace organization system.

- Onsite in Fort Wayne Office
- Hours Monday - Friday 1st Shift!!

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely and efficiently unload incoming shipments of parts, verify the contents against the packing list, sign, and date the list, and store the parts in their designated locations.
- Kit parts for all operations in a timely and accurate manner to ensure the parts are readily available for production.
- Prepare shipping documents and package parts for transfer to external facilities, ensuring timely pickup by the carrier.
- Manage the return process for parts in Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring that we receive the appropriate refund from the vendor.
- Participate in the annual physical inventory of parts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Follow the change management process for master data of parts within the warehouse, including labeling bin locations and parts, barcoding, and the total MRP process.
- Maintain forklift certification and operate the forklift in a safe and responsible manner.
- Follow the 5s process to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse and workspace.
- Always promote good safety practices and identify potential hazards in the workspace.
- Support the shop by ensuring work orders are created, parts picked/staged in a timely manner and work orders are verified for accuracy and completion.
- Maintain critical attention to detail on picking, shipping, and receiving documentation, as well as cycle counting.
- Assist in inventory control, completing daily cycle counts, and recording data.
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement processes by communicating ideas and looking for efficiency improvements.
- 5S (Sort, Shine, Straighten, Standardize, Sustain): Implement and uphold 5S principles within the workspace to improve efficiency and organization.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in inventory management or related field.
- Valid Driver's License.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Forklift certification or experience.
NICE TO HAVE
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other inventory management software (Dynamics 365).
- SAP or similar ERP experience
