PTR Vendor Spotlight: Hydrabed Reel Loaders

When you work in Telecom, Transmission and Distribution or Power, you know the importance of being able to safely and easily retrieve or payout conduit, wire, fiber and cable. Reel trailers are incredibly beneficial to have when you have multiple reels that you need to move, but having a truck that can pay out your cable for you when you’re on your jobsite is an instant boost to productivity. Handling reels is no longer a stressor.

So, what do we recommend when you need to handle bulky, oversized reels? PTR’s Hydraulic Reel Loaders from Hydrabed. With these units, you and your guys will save time every time.

One major benefit of having an F550 Reel Loader in your fleet is that you can lay miles of cable in a short amount of time, having a figure-8 attachment available with PowerWind so you can lay approximately 750 feet of cable every minute. Plus, this unit doesn’t tangle up your cable when you’re working with the figure-8 attachment, allowing you to get to the bitter end and start to lay the cable faster than ever.

Each of these units are equipped with a variety of features, like:

  • Backup Cameras
  • Side Steps
  • Tow Package and Tow Hooks
  • Bluetooth
  • Keyless Entry
  • Trailer Brake Controllers
  • Headache Rack
  • 4 Corner Strobe Lights
  • Sliding Drawers
  • Above and Underbody Boxes

With all of these features, these units are ready to work. Plus, our Reel Loaders have a lift capacity of 5,000lbs and a max reel diameter of 30” to 102”.

With a hitch option on these truck rentals, you can pull additional reel trailers to your site if you have multiple reels you need to transport. Our F550 Reel Loaders have a GVWR of 19,500lbs, GCWR of 35,000lbs, payload capacity of 7,500lbs and towing capacity of 18,500lbs, being able to take on anything you throw its way with ease.
